Meet the Neighborhoods

Nine neighborhoods across seven states will embark on the transformation of their communities with support from the $180 million Fifth Third Empowering Black Futures Neighborhood Program.

Over the next three years, the neighborhoods and the cross-sector partnerships leading them will carry out an economic mobility plan that defies historic disinvestment and reflects the hopes and aspirations of residents and stakeholders.

Arlington Woods

Indianapolis, Indiana

JEWEL Human Services

The centerpiece of JEWEL Human Services’ comprehensive ROCK (Renewing Our Community for the Kingdom) Initiative is the creation of a middle and high school education center in Arlington Woods.

A home-repair and rehabilitation program is at the heart of Cleveland Neighborhood Progress’ plan to harness the resurgence underway in the community and expand homeownership opportunities for long-term Buckeye residents.

Community Development Corporation of Tampa

The Nehemiah Legacy Project is East Tampa’s comprehensive plan to grow the upward mobility of over 750 Black residents who live, work and own property in the neighborhood – and create a tipping point for economic mobility.
